Robert Stojakovich has been a music teacher in Anne Arundel County for 22 years. He has taught at Southern Senior, Southern Middle, South River Senior, Edgewater Elementary, Bates Middle, and Chesapeake Senior where he is currently the instrumental music director. Under his direction the Bands and Orchestras have continued a pursuit of excellence in competition and festivals at the county, state and national levels. At the age of 20 Mr. Stojakovich received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has done graduate work at the University of Maryland and West Chester University.
For six years he had served as Spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Band Directors Association
at both the senior and middle level. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Anne Arundel Community College for the T3 project. He has
served on the Board of Directors for the Annapolis Opera Company as the Education Liaison. He founded the South County Youth Orchestra
(no longer in existence). Through his advocacy, he helped procure staffing at the elementary level for string teachers in the South
County area, a program that now boasts over 200 young string students annually. As a performer, he is highly sought in many
genres of music, as a classically trained trombonist and pianist.
He enjoys spending time with his wife Daris, and son R. Gavin, and looks forward to summers boating around on the Chesapeake and its waterways.
