Welcome to our new and improved website!  The Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra is celebrating our 19^th year of helping young musicians celebrate the joy of music.  We are based in the Annapolis, Maryland area, but our musicians hail from four nearby counties and the District of Colombia.  We have seven different ensembles that can accommodate beginning students up through advanced high school-level musicians.  Several of our members participate in Maryland State Band and Orchestra ensembles and many have gone on to major in music and are now playing in professional symphony orchestras or teaching at fine schools nationwide.

We pride ourselves in offering outstanding instruction from some of the best music educators in the state.  Many of our conductors are also professional performing musicians who bring their unique perspective and professional-level coaching to our students. This instruction, along with the camaraderie of friends who share the same interest and love for music, make the CYSO experience something that brings students back year after year.

No organization can succeed without the help and support of many different people.  The CYSO is fortunate to have outstanding support from community sponsors, private donors, parents, and friends.  If you have a love of music and want to pass that passion along to another generation of musicians, we have a place for you at the CYSO.  We are currently looking for adults who can help us with fund raising and community outreach, as well as participating on our Board of Directors.
