Jazz Ensemble

STEVE FIDYK, Conductor

The mission of the CYSO Jazz Ensemble is to foster an appreciation for the rich history and music of the truly American art form - jazz.

With members from as young as the 6th grade up through students who currently attend college, the jazz band ideally showcases (5) saxophones, (4) trombones, (5) trumpets, piano, guitar, bass, drums and a vocalist.

Musicians who audition and are selected for this group will enjoy an experience that focuses on ensemble skills, improvisation, technique and musicianship. The Jazz Ensemble performs regularly at community outreach events for civic organizations and has been a featured ensemble "side by side" with the US ARMY BLUES Jazz Ensemble, Washington DC.
