2026-2027 Audition Requirements

Who should audition

New & Prospective Musicians

CYSO welcomes musicians ages 8–21, from beginning through advanced levels. Auditions are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, based on available openings within our ensembles.

To begin the audition process:

• Fill out the audition application form. Once your application is received, we will contact you regarding the next steps and scheduling your audition.

• Pay the $45 audition fee. Upon acceptance, this fee covers your registration.

• In-person auditions are scheduled individually and take place at Annapolis Area Christian School, 109 Burns Crossing Road, Severn, MD 21144. Once your application has been received, you will be contacted to arrange an audition date and time.

• Virtual auditions may be submitted using an UNLISTED YouTube link and emailed to the CYSO Executive Director.

• Prospective students ages 8–21 who meet CYSO's audition requirements may be offered placement when there is an opening in an appropriate ensemble.

• Virtual audition videos will be sent to the appropriate Music Director and judges for review and placement once the application is complete and the audition fee has been paid.

• Placement will be communicated by email following the audition and review process.

• Accepted applicants may reserve their place with a $100 non-refundable tuition deposit. The $100 deposit is applied toward the student's total tuition for the season.

• Payment plans and financial assistance are available. Please contact us if financial assistance or an alternative payment arrangement would help make participation possible.

Returning Musicians

All current CYSO students wishing to continue with CYSO must audition for placement each season.

To complete the audition process:

• Fill out the audition application form.

• Pay the $45 registration fee.

• In-person auditions are scheduled individually and take place at Annapolis Area Christian School, 109 Burns Crossing Road, Severn, MD 21144. Once your application has been received, you will be contacted to arrange an audition date and time.

• Virtual auditions may be submitted using an UNLISTED YouTube link and emailed to the CYSO Executive Director.

• All current CYSO members who wish to return must audition for placement. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons.

• Placement will be communicated by email following the audition and review process.

After Acceptance

Returning musicians must:

• Complete the annual registration forms sent with their welcome letter.

• Pay the non-refundable $100 tuition deposit. The $100 deposit is applied toward the student's total tuition for the season.

• Pay the balance of the tuition fees by the first rehearsal of the season.

• Payment plans and financial assistance are available. Families who would benefit from an alternative payment schedule or scholarship assistance are encouraged to contact us.
