Advanced Ensemble
Major symphonic repertoire, advanced ensemble training, and full-orchestra performance opportunities for dedicated student musicians.
The Symphony Orchestra is a full symphony orchestra of advanced student musicians performing major symphonic repertoire. The ensemble performs several full concerts each year in Annapolis and surrounding communities.
Special guest artists and concerto competition winners are invited to join the Symphony Orchestra in concert, giving students the opportunity to experience collaborative performance at a high artistic level.
Designed for advanced musicians ready for the challenge and depth of full-orchestra repertoire.
Students rehearse and perform works drawn from the major symphonic tradition, building musical maturity and ensemble awareness.
The ensemble setting develops listening, leadership, section playing, and the skills needed to perform in a large symphonic group.
Special guest artists and concerto competition winners may join the Symphony Orchestra in performance throughout the season.
Auditions are required for placement in CYSO ensembles. Students should review the current audition requirements before applying.
