The Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Advanced Summer Orchestra Camp, August 3–7, 2026, is a five-day intensive for advanced musicians ages 14–18 (incoming freshmen through seniors). Held at Annapolis Area Christian School in Severn, Maryland, the camp is led by Carlos Castrillón.

Activities include chamber coaching, full orchestra rehearsals, masterclasses, orchestral excerpt study, and workshops on audition preparation, ensemble leadership, and advanced performance techniques. Students receive both individual and ensemble coaching designed to strengthen tone, interpretation, intonation, musicianship, and collaboration while working alongside other dedicated young musicians from across the region.

The week concludes with a public performance and is designed to prepare students for youth orchestra auditions, honor ensembles, collegiate music study, and future performance opportunities.
